Yatagarasu: Attack on Cataclsym Released On Steam & Humble Bundle

Although Yatagarasu has gone through tons of development throughout the past two to three years, it’s updated version, titled Attack on Cataclysm, is now available on Steam & Humble Bundle. The original version was available online through a website that dealt with imported Japanese games and accessories, but then the developers ran an IndieGoGo campaign to fund the newest version of the game. AoC includes three new characters, Azure, Aja and Kintaro, as well as more stages and additional balance changes.

Yatagarasu borrows heavily from older 2D fighting games, such as Street Fighter 3: Third Strike and King of Fighters. The game is a four button fighter, with an additional two buttons for high and low parry. Characters have both a guard meter, which depletes as they successfully block, and a super meter, which is used to power up special moves and perform super moves. Technically, Yatagarasu doesn’t stray much from its traditional fighting game inspiration, but its characters, artwork and play style help AoC stand out among the crowd. The fact that it’s available on Steam and Humble Bundle helps Yatagarasu a ton, as well, as the fighting game community on the PC has grown exponentially over the last five years. If you love old school fighting games and want something to quench your thirst for salty tears, Yatagarasu is the game for you.
