Does Game Length Matter? The Order 1886 & The $60 Price Point

The release of the Order 1886 has uncovered a reoccurring conversation about video game length that has haunted the console gaming market for years now. “Triple-A” titles are released at a minimum price of $60 and consumers are forced to evaluate whether or not a game is worth their initial investment. The problem is not whether or not game length matters, because it clearly doesn’t when you consider the success of games like Portal, but rather the problem is that console game developers will not waver from their stance of releasing every game at a $60 price point.
